NORCIA

At the foot of the Monti Sibillini, on the edge of the plain of Santa Scolastica, and on the borders of the ancient duchies of Spoleto and Benevento, Norcia was a trading city and a staging post for centuries. Today, the two is known above all for its local produce, in particular for its black truffles and for the production of the high quality meat, salami and sausages. Browsing around the wonderful salumerie and other food shops is a highlight of any visit to the town.
